DOING YOUR OWN hair is such a chore – wouldn’t it be nice to be one of those women who gets a blow dry every week? Wouldn’t it be nice to have Rich Lady Hair?
What is Rich Lady Hair, I hear you ask. Well, it’s hair that’s shiny, full, and luxurious-looking. Blake Lively has it:
Adele has it:
And of course, Kate Middleton is the Rich Lady responsible for igniting Rich Lady Hair desires in many women:
Lovely hair. Costly hair, that has been constructed and maintained by any number of stylists. But how can one obtain that look without loads of money and a glam squad?
Get yourself a natural bristle brush for blow-drying
People can get pretty evangelical about boar-bristle brushes, which add lots of shine and prevent oil build-up on your scalp.
Kate Middleton’s stylist Richard Ward favours the Shine Angel, which is a rather reasonable €15 – but Amazon has lots of other options for you to peruse.
Dig out this yoke
I know, it’s so annoying. It falls off all the time and it’s so tempting to just fling it into a drawer, never to be seen again. But this nozzle is the thing that’s going to get your blowdry nice and smooth by concentrating heat on your follicles. Embrace it!
Use a thickening product to encourage dat volume
Before you blow dry, spray something like John Frieda’s Root Booster (€7.99) into your wet hair, then go at it with your round brush.
Put in velcro rollers after your hair is dried
Have a pack of rollers from Penneys that you’ve never really known how to use? Roll up sections of your hair in them after you blow dry, secure them with clips, and leave it to set for 15 minutes. Ta-da, Rich Lady Waves.
Apply a bit of argan oil at the end for extra shine
This is €2 from Penneys and it does a perfect job. You just want your hair to look expensive, remember.
Get out there now and show it off.
